Mountain Mist

Self catering cabins

Come and experience the peace, tranquillity and magnificent views of our unique mountain-top retreat above the village of Aurora.

Standing almost the same height as Table Mountain, the cabins have panoramic views of the West Coast of Cape Town, from Langebaan lagoon through to St Helena Bay. To the north there are views of the Cedarberg, Swartberg and Piketberg mountains.

We have three wooden cabins (Two four sleepers and One two sleeper).

In addition there is a farm style cottage that sleeps six people. It has a huge traditional fireplace.
Our land is rich in mountain Fynbos such as rare Proteas growing in their natural environment and Restios in abundance.
We are host to a wide variety of birds.  Mountain Mist is a haven for birding from novice to professional. Among the many raptors, the Black Eagles nest and soar the cliffs around us.  The rare Protea Canary is frequently seen here and if you are up at first light, you may see the Ground Woodpecker frolicking among the rocks.

Klipspringer lives on the mountain as well as duiker Vaal Reebok, Dassies, Lynx, Porcupines and Baboons.
There are hikes and strolls.  Unspoilt bushman paintings are easily accessible.  For the more active there is a hike down to a Wild Olive grove where some of the trees are estimated to be hundreds of years old.  For the Mountain Biker the road to Mountain Mist is 17 km long and rises over 650 metres.
Our guests can enjoy the exclusive use of the bush pool fed by the pure water of a mountain stream.
